Where's MichaJH's Post

Some of the replies to Michael's post about a Cash On Hand Job were quite amusing so I thought I would see what was added this afternoon but it has gone. I can't imagine him deleting it and it was quite inoffensive so where had it gone?

I noticed the post by Poppy has been deleted too - I thought she had asked for it to be deleted.

Poppy probably left, she has before. I tried to help, but when you are so low, messages don't seem to get through. You literally take everything the wrong way. Yes, I enjoyed posts about job offered, I was going to offer to help, but being in Australia, bit useless. Lol. Have a good day! Take care. Moni

I know you are right re Poppy, she has a lot of problems and sadly it didn't matter what support people tried to give her she couldn't see that.We all need a bit of a laugh now and again so don't understand why the driving job was removed!!

It was deleted by HU as " it is not in line with the topic of the community"! As it us unlikely HU can read every post and reply I suspect it was reported which has happened to me before....

I thought it may have come under " Helping Mental Health " as it was lifting peoples spirits well I thought it was funny, thanks Michael

Of all the abuse that goes on on this forum I'm absolutely astonished that the only post HU decide to act upon is one that brings a smile to our faces!Maybe time for a BBQ?

They do delete other messages. Not everyone likes or dislikes the same stuff, so I, for one, am v pleased they keep a good watching brief on our behalf.

I'm not saying they don't/shouldn't delete posts! It's just a shame they don't act on the abusive comments! Having been the subject of abuse before now and despite reporting it nothing is done. I've also seems comments with profanities, they don't get removed either! I'm not sure those type of comments are 'in line with the topic of the community'! Its one of the reasons I rarely post/comment any more!

It would be helpful if the moderation was consistent.

Laughter and smiles can be medicinal.

There is also the option of scrolling on by.

I have faced the same problems that Lezzers has encountered.

Absolutely! There's been loads of jokes and fun on the forum before now, particularly during the difficult times we've been enduring! I do believe these were given the nod of approval, so why is it only now that humour ' isn't in line with the topic of the community'?

Ps: I might also ask where HU were when a lot of misinformation was being posted and a number of vulnerable people were scared away from the forum, the very group of people that should have been protected!

To be honest I've become quite disillusioned with this forum lately, and rarely post. When I do have a look at recent posts I've noticed that a lot of people who have posted regularly seem to be absent. At the height of the pandemic we had the anti-vaxers, the conspiracists, the 5G crowd along with the anti statin mob, many of whom were very abusive, but the post lingered for ages and even if the posts were taken down it only seemed to happen when the thread became very abusive. Now it seems we've moved to the other extreme of removing anything that is not "in line with the topic of the community"! I know that I posted quite a few visual jokes on the subject of Covid which I'm sure wouldn't survive for long now. I agree, laughter and smiles can be medicinal, we all need something to lighten the day form time to time. I've started to move onto other forums which, while they aggressively stop abusive and ill-informed posts are very happy to accept posts that are"off topic" that give us all a smile or two

Heather1957 profile image

While I agree that we all don't have the same sense of humour I thought that post was totally innocuous and would be surprised how anyone would complain about it. What a sad place this would be!!

So out if purely academic interest did you:

i) Report Michael's joke?

ii) Report the rather explicit abuse I received and that received by other forum members?

Heather1957 profile image

One of the benefits of having a bad memory is that I forget some of the nasty posts people make about me (and there have been a few) I know and accept I can come across as a little confrontational and often wonder if I am somewhere on the spectrum as I forget social niceties. That said there are the one or two who have been so awful I remember them. The reason I have said this is because there are some people who have an agenda against certain posters and look for the opportunity to attack them or report them, it is true in life but so much easier to do so while hiding behind a keyboard.

Nothing wrong with having a disagreement but once it is over that should be the end of it and people should put their big person pants on and move on.

We are people who are lucky to still be here we should have each others back and not bear a grudge.

No one knows better than us life can be short, why on earth would we waste it?

How sad! If every thread became the same I could understand but it is an exception.I hope this doesn't become a miserable place to come, I see it as a community and that includes having a laugh!

😫😑 was it a joke MJH? I skim read it yesterday and thought I can't help. Then it played on my mind so I thought I better read it properly to offer help if I can, (I drove someone to Glasgow once so he could propose), and the post had been deleted. I honestly thought it was deleted because it was offering pay (which always comes in handy). πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

I , like you thought it was real until I read a couple of comments and looked again at the dates. I'm a bit slow with things like that LOL. I thought at first it was a scam until i "got it" and started laughing. Really cheered up my day. A pity the mods don't have a sense of humour or realise how it helps.

β€’ in reply toQualipop

Hello :-)

Well I must be very slow as I thought it was real and still did not get it till reading this post

I thought that is good pay for a couple of days work :-D

Maybe as a few did not see the joke and thought it was real the Admins may have thought the same that it was a real offer who knows

Could be an idea if doing light hearted posts we put just a bit of fun or lightheartedness somewhere in the title or post :-)

Laughter can really help , I like a laugh :-) x

My first reaction was "How is it going to take 8 hours?" THEN I saw the dates and almost cried laughing. It was very clever

I'm easily taken in and when I first saw it I thought what a good offer. Came back to see if anyone had taken up the offer, only to find it had been removed! I've missed the joke now!

I have to say I was rather disappointed and taken aback when the post was deleted. The left and right hands obviously do not communicate as the previous day I was asked to write something for the same community?!

At the time I posted I was trying to take my mind off things. Besides learning two appointments were not happening (one afternoon appointment was cancelled in the morning) I was also suffering with phantom pain which has been worse than normal for the past few weeks. And laughter as they say is the best medicine!

If anybody who has posted here so far would like a copy please message me and I will send it to you as I kept a copy. 😁

I am part of a Facebook group where myself and colleagues (in the same business) share info. Someone already posted something similar but more in line with the work we do. The money wasn't as good though!! It took a few minutes for the penny to drop though! 🀣

Sorry I missed this post. We need all the laughs we can get these days!

Maybe it was deleted because it’s a heart forum rather than a joke forum for goodness sake

Heather1957 profile image

There is more than my heart problems about me and I have capacity for a joke or 2! Why would it be an issue to you if someone posts a joke, seriously I would love to know. We have several members who suffer with depression, do we tell them this is a heart forum so no-one should support them?
