I had a cardiac arrest in July 2020 and was in hospital for a week . I was sent home after having a pacemaker and ICD fitted with no plan or any help from anyone. After my father passed away from a cardiac arrest in October I decided to contact the rehabilitation clinic to see if I was untitled to any help. They told me I should have had help right from the beginning. I have not been well since I stepped out of the hospital suffering from terrible digestive and stomach problems. I am asking if anyone else has suffered this after having CPR as I can’t get the GP to take it seriously.

I'm sure you'll see by reading a cross section of posts on here that a great many of us have dreadful side effects to the cocktail of medication we were given following our procedures.I'm also sure that your GP must have had conversations with a great many of their patients with the same issues as your having.
I would be asking for an appointment and a sit down with your GP to discuss your issues.
I had a HA last June, I've had to go to the surgery three times since then for blood tests and once for a "healthy heart" review.
Hi there. I can totally relate to the lack of follow up after HA. For me it all happened August 2020 and on release I heard nothing for over three months from either Cardiac team or my GP. I’m afraid I had to force myself to challenge GP with the end result being that I requested a change of GP practice after being with the same one all my life !!! Covid was being blamed for a lot of course. My advice …. Stand your ground with your GP until he/she does take you seriously … shocking we have to take these measures but that’s the world we’re living in.
Exactly the same problems as you cocktail of medications no follow up doctors didn't understand stomach problems it has taken 6 months for my stomach to start and settle. You haven't said if you have physical problems but keep going back to your doctors a lot of doctors haven't seen patients with as a but they can put you back in touch with a cardiologist
Hi, I had a cardiac arrest a few years ago but only had a couple of minutes of CPR as a defib was close by. No problems with digestion that I didn't already have but my problem was a faulty valve which has been replaced. I'm only on warfarin but from what I've read on this forum and elsewhere the problem is likely to be the drugs depending on what you are on.Good luck with getting it sorted, you've been through enough already.
