ACHD review after 1st change in 25 years!

Just had consultation. EF improved from 41% to 52% so move in right direction. Scan and MRI inconclusive but valve seems ok so far. Scan again in July. Bisoprolol increased by 2.5mg. Disappointed to not know cause and have been told that longevity will be less than other, but still hopefully another 20 years or so yet. Just got to absorb and decompress now. Thanks for all the messages of support.

That's really good news for you...can I just ask what you meant by the longevity comment..😊

Consultant said that people with ACHD tend to have impaired longevity compared to other people.

Can I ask why the 'cause' is so important to you?

The cause would give a clearer indication of it is my valve that needs replacing or I have developed another defect. When you know the cause of an issue, you can work in the right direction to a solution or at least specific management

Even if your consultant is correct now what will things be like in 10 years? never mind 20. Medical science is moving so fast I would say you have every reason to expect a longevity equal to the rest of the population. Take care.
