Hi all, I was diagnosed last year with rate related left bundle branch block after some strange sensations in my upper chest when working out in the gym. I’m 43 years old and apparently healthy on all other fronts, heart all good in other areas and no history of high blood pressure, but to run checks, I was put through the ECG, exercise test and a MRI stress perfusion test as well as having a monitor placed on me for 7 days to assess the heart.
After a year of no communication, I’ve received a letter and prescription to start taking low dosage Bisoprolol which by my own investigation appears quite daunting….with LBBB being a potential side affect, increased chances of heart failure etc etc? Very confusing for a new comer to this diagnosis.
I’ve tried reaching out to the consultant but many months before I am able to have a formal ‘phone consultation’ and getting any questions through to my GP via the high level of GP secratrianism security is almost impossible at the moment. Just wondering if anyone has any similar experiences of this diagnosis or medication that can advise?
Thankyou
Neil

What a fantastic line “ high level of GP secratrianism security” I shall steal that from you , to be used in all medical correspondence.
As for your question I am really sorry that I am not medically trained, and feel that you will have to get those answers from your GP/ hospital.
One place you could try would be a Pharmacist, but would have doubts that they could really advise you other to what the Bisoprolol is for in your case.
I also have left bundle block and take Bisoprolol, but am unsure if it’s for that reason, another question I also have to ask.
