Hi all, I had my pacemaker upgraded to a CRT-P device last Monday. I was advised not to drive for a week, but the situation re the DVLA was less clear. I had informed them via the H1 form when my original pacemaker was implanted so had a look online. It says they don't need to know if you've just had a battery change, and they do need to know if you've changed to an ICD. There was no option for a CRT-P although it is listed as a type of device, but nowhere on the form to enter the information.
Anybody had this upgrade and what did you do?

Hi Fred. My husband has a CRT-P and DVLA were quite happy with it. I think they are more interested in the CRT-D which has a built in defibrillator. You would find more info here:- bostonscientific.com/en-US/...
Thanks, that's my understanding too. I'm inclined to submit the form and just add the make and model number of the CRT-P and let them make of it what they will. For my previous pacemaker they just advised to get the device checked regularly.
That’s all DVLA said to my husband. Hope you get it sorted.
As far as I understand it the P and the D differentiate between a pacemaker and a defibrillator. One stimulates the heart and the other gets it going again.
