Back to Annual Review
Hi, I still have yearly echo and chat with my cardiologist following my AVR in 2017. I have had annual check ups since I was 16, now 62. Had my first AVR at 52, which started to leak a few years later and had six monthly checks until they decided to operate again. Now back to yearly check ups - had my echo just before Christmas.
Thank you. How you feeling these days? Are you on any meds?
I'm feeling fine heart wise and my echoes have been fine. I haven't gone out much during this pandemic as I am high risk courtesy of a splenectomy between my heart ops. As I have taken early retirement I feel a bit of a recluse some days, and a bit of a couch potato, but once it warms up again I'll get back to doing my daily walks.
I am on a shed load of meds for various things, the main ones being warfarin, as I now have a mechanical valve, and antibiotics because of the splenectomy. I'm also on omeprazole, atorvastatin, losartan and amitryptaline. I think I'd rattle if I jumped up and down!
