Warning on watch
hi Brad.. as far as i know.. i’ve never had a heart attack.. apart from being told by a Cardiologist that a couple of ecg’s say i might’ve had one lol.. told last year by a doctor in A&E i wasn’t having a ‘full blown heart attack’ whatever that is.. but my oxygen level is normally 93 .. sometimes down to 92 .. as of yet i’ve never thought anything of it.. how low is your HR?… lowest i’ve had is about 38.. if you’re concerned you should call 111 or 999 just to be safe
Thanks for the reply, when I have my heart attack I just had aching in my shoulders, it wouldn't go away so I went to A&E and they gave me an ECG which they said was ok then they did a blood tests followed by another ECG and this time they said I had, had an heart attack and eventually put in 6 stents over two days.
That oxygen level is a bit low. I would call 111, or the BHF nurses for further advice. Better to be safe than sorry!
How low is your heart rate? Mine often drops to mid 40s at night, but that's deliberate because of the meds I'm on. 93 oxygen is low and you should get that checked. It may simply be your watch giving incorrect readings (they do!), or, as Manhatten says, it may be "normal for you", but you need to set your mind at ease.
Personally I would not rely on the watch data and would check with an oximeter too. I had a Withings watch but I gave up wearing it as the data was so different to my oximeter and bp machine, especially at night when it didn't always sit true on my wrist. If you don't already have one, buy a good oximeter and use that to check your O2 and hr. A simple wrist test (and the second hand on your watch) will tell you your true hr. Always worth getting it professionally checked if you are worried though.
I took your advice and bought an oximeter. But there is virtually no difference between the two.
Definitely worth mentioning to the doc then. They may say that it is ok for you but I would just get it checked especially if you are feeling breathless.
I wouldn't rely on a watch, they are notoriously unreliable. Do you have a proper blood pressure monitor to get yoru heart rate? You need a pulse oximeter for oxygen levels. They are far more reliable and pretty cheap. I got mine from the local chemist. Why don't you go to the chemist's and ask them to check your BP, heart rate and oxygen. People forget that chemists can do such things. Tell them what's happened and that you are concerned. If it's still low then contact your doctor.
Bought an oximeter but the results are the same as the watch
