No, at least not until at least you have spoken to your medical team at the hospital.

I have heart failure and a dual pacemaker, I wear my Apple Watch daily as do many others on this forum with absolutely no issues whatsoever.

As far as I can tell Apple Watches don’t use bioimpedance which is what the above article states interferes with the function of ICDs and pacemakers. But please do your own research into the specific model you are buying. My husband wears one and he has an ICD, never had an issue. The main concern seems to be getting an unnecessary shock from the ICD. He hasn’t experienced this and has worn his Apple Watch for two years following his ICD surgery. The model he has is very old and definitely doesn’t use bioimpedance!

put it on your left arm. You may need to rotate the screen

Why do you say I might have to rotate the screen?

Yes, smart watches are fine. I currently have a Polar watch, but have been recommended to look at Garmins as a replacement. None of them will cause a problem with my ICD.

I have my Apple Watch and the consultant cardiologist was delighted because it gave him “a lot of very useful information “

See it as an obs chart take regular readings, mine links to my phone and is a boon to information gathering. It’s something akin to having a nurse strapped to your wrist taking observations

Please don’t then self diagnose or even worse Google diagnose 😁

Personally I love the monitoring and recording of stats. As did my cardiologist

Can you tell me what watch model that you have , on due to me with my cardio nurse who I see every 6 months and until I can get as muu is ch information as poss it will have to wait I am interested in the amount of things these watches can do , my biggest concern is I don’t want it to interfere with my ICD

Until recently I had the Apple Watch 7. I recently 6 weeks ago) upgraded to Apple Watch 10

I also have an omron connect BP meter that links by Bluetooth to my phone. I also have an oxygen sats device but this is consistently aligned with my watch which does the same function

I have been suitably impressed by the watch. I even get warnings if I’m unsteady walking. Recently I fell in the garden and the watch buzzed to say … you look like you’ve fallen. Would you like us to call emergency services…

Now that’s service 😁
