I have moderate HF and have had a couple of procedures that have not improved things. Together with coping with the pandemic and losing more than a dozen close friends during the last two years (not COVID related) I fear I am suffering from depression.
I am on Entresto etc. with no obvious side effects. Do any members have any experience with using antidepressant medication while having heart problems?

Having lost 5 friends this year I know just how you feel Fred. That said life is what we make it. Remember it is perfectly natural to be sad at losing friends This is a good time of year to ask friends and neighbours to visit you for a glass of wine. Perhaps not as a group though. When they arrive sit away from them. Do you feel well enough to put yourself forward as a volunteer for a charity group?
Losing so many friends is very upsetting, as is discovering the feeling your body is letting you down. This is natural, not necessarily clinical depression. I think you would be better trying new activities than just going for medication. It's not easy in this weather, but getting out for brisk walks, especially with friends, might help your mood, and be beneficial for your physical health.
Really tough times for a lot of people these last couple of years. Sorry for your losses.I have lived with fepression on and off for over 20 years and taken various meds from dr. Had a STEMI in April this year and although they said "u cant take ibroprufen, naproxen etc etc" nothing was ever mentioned about my antidepressant and i've had no problem since with them together with my wee heart cocktail.
Your GP will know what could possibly interact with your meds and what wouldnt so have a chat.
Also as RufusScamp said, some activities such as a walk through the forest or along the beach work for calming me down .
