Ptsd after stent heart attack.

After having a heart attack in mid August, I am suffering bouts of depression, crying and the feeling I could die at any moment. In town shopping I had a quite acute chest pain and then realized my GTNspray was at home. I panicked but after a while the pain subsided and I got home

Then another sharp pain so took gtn and all was well. But the feeling of getting a pain that may be my last is causing me so much fear.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Totally normal I carry a little bag with my GTN spray and Asthma inhalers go into meltdown if I don’t have them with me. Had my heart attack in May. It’s normal too feel this way. Take care

Me too.. just in case (& to help me feel ‘secure’), I have GTN sprays in my coat pockets, handbags, kitchen drawer, bathroom & in the car!You can buy them (cheaply! £5) over the counter at any pharmacy.

Hi Alan.. YES!! Absolutely was affected in exactly the same way.. 😢 It’s very ‘normal’, only to be expected after such a shock.. and, it’s also very early days for you. I promise it gets better & the fear lessens and the depression lifts.. 🤗❤️ Take it easy & take good care of yourself.. 😊

I had my heart attack in may and there is no doubt that it does raise your awareness of every single niggle in the chest area, and in my case, the lower jaw too. If i go out my spray goes with me. I have one in the bedroom, kitchen and lounge. I havn't used it yet as in my mind if I have to use it then it means there is something wrong!!?? I havnt really fully processed the fact I have had a heart attack!!! You will get there in time. Take care and stay safe too.
