Ectopic heart beats post by-pass

Three months in after my by-pass and am attending rehabilitation. I am aware I suffer a 12% burden of ventricular ectopic. During rehab the treadmill test was abandoned after 2 minutes because my ectopic were bigemini (one every two beats). Totally deflated for a relatively fit guy, I am now coming to you to ask, has anyone else had this problem ? Is it something one can live with ?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately hearts dislike being messed with and can react with irregular heart beats of different types. This is why pacing wires are left in after surgery, for usually just a few days.

As regards ectopics a friend suffered from these but is now virtually free of them. Basically he removed caffeine, alcohol, chocolate and spicy foods from his diet. He's now back to swimming 40 lengths most mornings.
