ramipril
Hello Chimpus,
Welcome to the forum, I had Ramipril after my open heart surgery. I developed the Ramipril cough, so was changed to Candesartan. My cough was a dry cough more like a tickle at the back of the throat.
Hope you can get your cough sorted.
Best wishes Pauline
Hi. I take Ramiprill 2.5 mg every evening. Most of the nights I wake up with a dry cough. A sip of water makes it go away. My cardiologist said this is cough is most probably because of Ramiprill
I take it twice a day , never had a cough , I feel I’m missing out on something 😂😂🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

Coughed non stop for weeks on Ramipril. It is a known side effect. It doesn’t suit everyone. Get your gp to give you a alternative. My cough disappeared at once.
I had a cough like that, but it could be a nasal drip that goes down to your throat. I found using a higher pillow at night helped.
Thank you
Hi yes it's a very common side effect I've been taking it for 6 years since my cardiac arrest in 2015 and have a dry cough.
Not for me, been on them since last December.
Yes I get this side effect. Tickling throat and clear mucus building up in my throat, I cough and cough to get it up and out. I’ve been on ramipril for 2 months now and hoping it’s going to go away or at least calm down, if not it’s back to the Docs.
