ramipril
I have taken Ramipril for some years. This year GP has bumped up the dose to 10 mg. my bp has edged down. No cough. No flemmy.
Hi, do you have any side effects while on ramipril? Thanks
Yes my gums started to gush blood every night. I had to lie on a thick towel- honestly my mouth was full of blood. I didnt immediately connect with ramporil but my dentist asked straight away if I had been on ramporil. He had seen others with same thing. I came off it . Managed to save my top teeth but now have a lower denture
Thanks
I've had a cough ever since I started taking Ramipril. It's usually a dry cough caused by a tickling at the back of my throat. The tickle is always in the same spot. Sometimes it can feel "flemmy", and I need to clear my throat. Often worse at night. It's really annoying and I thought that it would have settled down by now (five months after op).
Ramipril made me cough but it was a dry cough. Had to do bloody lateral flows virtually every day for three months, just to be sure
At least it was`nt nothing serious!
Hi yes it can also give you a dry cough. Have been on it for 6 years since my cardiac arrest in 2015
Absolutely. I take it at night and in the morning it's like I have a 'smoker's cough'I have never smoked!! The cough mostly subsides after a couple of hours.
Yes Ramipril made me cough a lot, day and night so it was replaced by Bisoprolol and the cough stopped.
I think it did initially but it’s now cleared . It’s a good drug relaxes the arteries
It’s a yes from me, now worse in the mornings, almost as bad as when I smoked, stopped 2 years ago.
I experienced the dry cough and throat tickle symptoms and after discussion with my GP was recently moved from Ramipril to Losartan. Been fine since, so fingers crossed it continues!
I had a dry cough due to covid and still have it 6 weeks later. I'm now beginning to think it's down to the ramipril. Will come off it for a couple of weeks to see if cough subsides.
