Bisoprolol

I was diagnosed with mild dilated cardiomyopathy in early august. I am currently on 2.5mg of bisoprolol & 2.5mg ramipril, the first few weeks I had some episodes of high anxiety but no other significant symptoms. However before i was diagnosed with the cardiomyopathy I had been diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation which I’ve learned now is because of this cardiomyopathy but it only affected me in bed at night now & again. Over the last few weeks it has definitely made the AF more frequent! my usually heart rate rest at around 52 but had dropped down to 42 since starting the medication. I mentioned the AF had become more frequent to the cardiologist who told me to up the bisoprolol in 2 weeks to 5mg. I’m worried my heart rate is low already & adding 2,5mg more to it is only going to make it drop dangerously low. He did mention if it goes too low go straight back to the 2.5mg. Is this even safe to try?!

My dads heart rate was 37 beats to a min he needed a pace maker . Have you had any scans .I could tell with my dad he got a blue tint to lips and when walking he was breathless .

Hi, thanks I’ve been seen already. I got diagnosed with mild dilated cardiomyopathy, the info I was after was if the medicines I take can take my rate to a dangerous low with it already resting low. Thanks anyways.
