Hi everyone, hope we're all keeping well? I wondered if anyone has experienced headaches after stopping warfarin? Here's the story, my INR had been high for a couple of weeks 5.3 and the 5.6 despite corrective advice by the GP. I started to get headaches that nothing would shift. It's been very nearly 3 months since the TVR so they've just said to stop it now. I skipped 2 doses anyway as originally suggested by the GP and felt a fair bit better but have basically stopped them now again as advised but the headaches are back.
I'm quite tired of being back and forth to the GP surgery with all manner of issues so I'm reluctant to book in if it's just a normal thing that may settle

Hi, I see you haven’t had any replies. I’d suggest asking your GP for investigations into these headaches and if you don't get any joy try phoning the BHF nurses. They're wonderful at suggesting next steps and how to word questions to get action. 0300 330 3311, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Hi, the odd time my INR has been raised over the years, I've not had headaches when I've missed a day or two of warfarin. It tends to normalize itself, but, I end up being checked more regularly.
After 3 months, I'd have thought it would have settled by now, so I'd suggest enquiring why it's that high.
As for being back and forth to your GPs, that's what they're for, to look after you, and making sure your INR is within range is very important.
Thanks to you both for replying, I had a chat with the cardiac rehab nurse and they've asked me to get my blood pressure checked out and explain the other symptoms to the GP. Booked in for the BP check tomorrow so we'll see how it goesSomething feels ever so wrong so I hope we can get to the bottom of it
The warfarin is finished now as I have a tissue valve, thankfully no more INRs to worry about for now
