What is a good blood pressure
Hello
No expert but would say as long as it does not go any higher then that is what they would call borderline which is ok it can all depend on what age you are as well x
I
It seems a little high. This NHS page is sort of helpful: nhs.uk/conditions/high-bloo...
You should probably discuss with your GP.
It's my understanding that the lower value is the most important, and 75 sounds good to me. You could ask the BHF nurses to discuss it if you are worried.
Borderline high for the systolic. If you haven’t got one get a BP machine and monitor it at home.
As others have said, just as long as it doesn't get any higher then you should be OK, however it all depends on what your overall physical condition is, for instance are you carrying too much weight, what is your diet, what level of exercise do you do etc. etc.Personally speaking I watch my BP quite closely as I have other heart and lung related issues, so for me two of my at least once daily tests is to take my BP as well as my blood oxygen levels, if I feel faint then I take them more often and keep results duly recorded.
I monitor my BP closely and measure it every two or three days, I'm pleased to say that since my HA in June the meds are working and I and my GP have been pleased with the levels.I average around 100/65.
I found a chart the other day on the NHS website after checking my blood pressure. I was told to take it 3 times a minute or apart because they can vary and you need an average
That chart looks good I've ben unable to find it on NHS website. What did you type please.
Just googled nhs blood pressure chart and scroll down to them. Or screenshot my post
SaxBox,
You need to go to this page nhs.uk/conditions/blood-pre... first. Then scroll down and enter your own reading in the box near the bottom and click 'Submit.' That then takes you to the chart Bingo88 has posted. Hope that helps.
The Diastolic or bottom number is your resting blood pressure between heartbeats, and 75 is perfectly normal. It usuallly stays pretty constant during the day The systolic however can vary quite a bit depending on your physical or emotional activity. An average of 145 could be considered borderline high but it depends on when and how you measure it. If I relax for a good few minutes before taking mine it drops quite a bit and I also find that it is always higher if I take it first thing in the morning.
Hi.Anything over 140 is classed as high nowadays. I had a type A dissection and valve replacement and was told to keep my BP to under 120.
Think if you can get yours down it would be good.
