I woke up 5 days ago worse for wear. I was agitated and couldn’t breathe properly.
Two times this struck me. Around 5 am and 7am. The para said we’ll run you in just in case. My heart rhythms were fine but the hospital blood test revealed a heart attack.
The angiogram revealed 2 main arteries affected. One that could receive a stent, the other too small.
I’m home now with a load of pills and trying to switch off from all worries and life plans. I need to get my energy back.
I’m lucky to have a caring girlfriend with me and supportive family.
This whole thing has affected many people and took many people to give aid in the NHS. I felt safe throughout the whole journey, a big thank you to them.

Welcome. This is a friendly place and there are many here just like you who have suddenly found themselves here after an unexpected heart attack. It takes time to recover physically and mentally so it's good to be kind to yourself, to rest and recover. The good news is it sounds like your heart wasn't damaged and you are on medication for now to prevent a repeat. Quite often the cardiologists perform angioplasty (putting in one stent or more ) at the same time as an angiogram, if they didn't explain why at the time then it would be good for you to find out.
