Solihull! So close now! The towpaths were much better today so the going was a lot quicker. The incredible engineering feat of the Hatton Locks was a highlight. I got lots of photos but cannot download them until we get home. Tomorrow is the final stretch, a shortish walk from Solihull to Birmingham, where we hope that we are going to be met by a film crew from ITV central, the publicity will help with the fundraising. We will be writing a book about the whole adventure. Thanks for everyones kind comments and messages of support, it has meant a lot! It will be emotional meeting my brother tomorrow, but I cant help feeling a bit pleased with myself!

Hi jim. You have every right to feel a "bit pleased" with yourself - in fact, a lot pleased! Very well done, on such an achievement and a lesson to us all that heart events can be the the beginning of a better normal, not just the end of life as we knew it. I hope you enjoy your reunion with your brother tomorrow, a fascinating tale. Best wishes to you both xx
Well done. You’re nearly there. Have a fabulous day tomorrow and I look forward to all the pics!
Well done, a great effort and like you say not long until Birmingham!
