hi

I am 44 year.old had an angioplasty done on 7th May due to severe blockage in LCX. no heart damage according to Echo. Nowadays sometimes i get stabbing pain under my breastbone which last few seconds but come & go. I also have gastric issues historically. Do i have to worry or is it a normal after effect due to medications. They done my angio in my groin

Thanks everyone

I feel your pain. I had the same issue after stenting, and to be honest it never really got better even 8 months after the procedure. I was tested for pericarditis, no signs of that. My suspicion is that it was gastric reflux which seems to be associated with heart procedures and also some medications like plavix seem to aggravate it. Unfortunatly I had cardiac arrest before the gastroenterologist could definitively diagnose it.

I would definitely press your cardiologist about it. If the pain is not angina, it's probably not too serious, but any pain in your chest after a heart procedure is hugely stressful.

Hello. I also have blockage in Lcx and get exactly same pain. It should ease up gradually. 4 months after my Angioplsty, I still occasionally get this but intensity of the pain is less

My cardiologist said this is nothing to worry about

Good luck
