As we all know there are many side effects to drugs - you could mention this to your GP or other health professional to see if there is an alternative as there often is (does the leaflet that comes with the tablets mention this one?) sometimes a friendly pharmacist can help. But I'm past being embarrassed by anything these days - "toilet issues" are so basic to all of us from a lesser to greater extent from infancy onwards but I agree that the fear of being offensive in any way can be an issue. I didn't think I would ever be spending money on liners, pads for the difficult times, a bit expensive but they are very good and unobtrusive these days!

Yeah that is true ,, I will speak to gp or even my nurse on Friday ,, just never know if to or not just incase a worser effect on another ,, I’ve just had my partner look as I really hate readin pamphlet I assume the worst lately and yes it is a common symptom like I can deal a day or 2 but it really weakens me and just darent risk leaving the house ,, oh I didn’t think to ask pharmacist I’ll give that a try in morning ty ,, oh I really wish I wasn’t embarrassed probably get further in life if wasn’t ,,aw bless ya but if they help they definitely worth it ,, thank you so much for reply :) x

Don't be embarrassed at all. Doctors are quite used to this sort of problem with medication.. There are plenty of alternatives you could take. I couldn't tolerate atorvastatin although I can't remember now why. I was changed to simvastatin which seems fine. My husband couldn't take either.

Just say you can't stop rushing to the toilet since you started taking them and it's so bad you can't even go for a walk. Then can I please try something else. No my husband doesn't take anything. He doesn't really need it; was just given them because of his age.

That is definitely a side affect to that drug. Your best bet is to ask your pharmacist. They know better than your physician. I'm not sure if this is something that will go away after you "get used to it" or not, but in the meantime, be careful not to dehydrate. You didn't mention being on other meds so an interaction could be a possibility also. I pray you get it all figured out soon. Take care!

Yeah my partner had a look for me it’s mad I only thought antibiotics did this effect guess not I got a lot to learn that for sure ,, yeah I am gonna give them a call morning as I don’t think I can put up with that it’s a drainer , yeah I tried drinking extra plus got diarlytes to replenish what I’ve lost 😞, I’m on levythyroxine, biaoprolol , colofac also ,, thank you so much , you take care too :) x

I have the same issue taking co-codamol which I occasionally have to use for pain control. I find ensuring I keep hydrated works well as well as lactulose if required.

Oh it’s really awful ,, are you new at taking these too or do u mean cocodamol has Thais effect on you ,, I am drinkin more then usual to keep hydrated as feel drained , thank you for replying:) x

in reply to tigerjuz86

No, have been taking a cocktail of meds for over a year now but co-codamol is something I only take infrequently as and when I need to. Sadly, at those times they are the only painkillers that work but I always get the same issue.

Hope your side effects are only temporary. I take 40mg of Atorvastatin and been lucky enough not to have any problems with it but quite a few people have had issues.

Ahh Oki I see ,, I hate taking mine just feels like it takes over and a constant reminder and heightens my anxiety but getting a tiny bit better ,, aw isn’t it strange how 1 med affects everyone different I’d love if no side effects but then that be way to easy ,,

Thank you again me too , wish you well and take care :) x
