Hello everyone. Just a quick update to my profile story really.

In 2016 I was living in Spain and while walking Rufus an elderly neighbour’s dog I experienced a terrific pain in my chest which made me stop until it passed. I delivered Rufus to his owner and struggled home not feeling too well, I made an appointment with my Dr that morning, he sent me straight to the hospital where they kept me in and 2 days, later they sent me for an angiogram which I was told by the Dr who spoke some English, Joanne this is serious and he fitted 2 stents. I remained in hospital a few days then was sent home feeling exhausted and a bit shocked.

A few months later I was admitted to hospital again and wasn’t allowed out of bed for a few days, 3 days later I was sent for another angiogram and had to have a restent in my LAD.

When I returned to the UK to live in 2017 I was sent to hospital with more chest pain I was given another angiogram and needed yet another stent in my RCA. When the Dr came to tell me the results of the Angiogram she referred to my heart attack which I replied no one has told me I have had a heart attack. I have since been told I have had a heart attack (probably the original time in Spain) which has left heart damage and I was Ok with that until I told someone I’d had a heart attack a week or so ago which made me feel really emotional. I’m OK with it has taken me a while to get used to it. For some reason, I was OK having unstable angina with all the angiograms I had but having it confirmed I’ve had a heart attack was quite a shock. Perhaps I have been in denial!

I have more calcification in other arteries but not yet needing any attention, the treatment I am getting here in Wales is exceptional and they are always there for any problem I now have. Thank goodness for the NHS.

Sorry for my ramblings (and bad punctuation).

Joan x

So glad you are getting the care you need, Joan. What a complete shock, not even being told you'd had a HA, and all the procedures you've endured. You sound really positive, and that's a blessing. Sending lots of good wishes xx

Thank you for your reply Brixcos. This site has been invaluable especially when I was in Spain.
