Mild chest pain, thought it was heartburn but bicarb didn't help! No shortness of breath etc. Should I be worried?

Mild chest pain
I had mild pain in my shoulder but no shortness of breath or other 'classic' symptoms. Turned out to be a heart attack. I'd suggest you get to A&E and get checked out (blood test and ECG). They really won't mind you being there!
My mother ignored similar symptoms, and found she had had a heart attack. Get it checked out. If it's not serious you can stop worrying, if is, the sooner you are treated the better.
You shouldn't be worried, but you should be concerned.
I visited the doctor with persistent indigestion...next thing I was having a triple bypass!
Please get it check out I had that few weeks back i had to go to the hospital but they couldn’t find anything but the next day I had a massive heart attack.
HiThe first thing to do is not to panic ring 111 and get there advice first and go from there.
Good luck
If it is abnormal for you and it persists I would say yes get checked.
I experienced similar - like a 'tightness' rather than pain. Ignored it for several YEARS and then it happened twice within a couple of days so finally made an appointment to see the GP. No breathlessness or other symptoms. Diagnosed with stable angina followed by lots of tests/scans and then an angiogram. Diagnosis: severe coronary artery disease with one 100% blockage, two 90% blockages and one 70% blockage - extremely fortunate not to have had a heart attack. Within a few weeks, I had a triple by-pass ... My advice? Get yourself along to your GP this week.
