In 2014 I got a dual chamber pacemaker fitted the resited in 2015 as it moved up towards my collar bone and I've been told due to risk of infection they can't move it again and it's a small price I need to pay, when yes getting told I'd be a 2 year fatality if i never got it is and I'm greatful. I can't lie, move, turn or seem to stretch but I hurt, the main lead is in the vein that sits under the collarbone and the pacemaker digs into me in that area. In bed I've lay on my left side unaware and now have a trapped nerve in my neck that's sore to my elbow joint down my arm and shoulder. This has been since Friday and the gp gave me cocodamol and I'm to call back of not helped any. Does anyone else get this small price to pay, I've had a weakness down my left side since the pacemaker was fitted and know it's going to get worse as I age I know it due to the way it's going.
Can pacemakers be fitted in the stomach area instead as I'm at the hospital for my review in July and if they can has anyone here got one in that area as I need this moved.
Sorry for the long post x

Despite being unsightly (I’ve got a big square protruding from my chest) I’ve had no problems since my ICD was fitted in January. It definitely does hurt if I lie on it of if my chest gets banged. I’ve not had any other pains that I can attribute to it, but if you’re in discomfort and it’s affecting your standard of like, I’d speak to your consultant ASAP
Sorry to hear of your troubles piggy2 , I was fitted with a dual chamber pacemaker in October, initially it was very uncomfortable , but it seems to have settled down a bit now but I still get a pinch now and again under my collarbone. July is a long time to wait if your having problems. Hopefully they can sort this out for you.
