One week post op

Finally got my operation last Tuesday. Had to stay on ICU for extra day as no bed available on ward. Moved bay in ICU. Next day moved back to ward, doctor comes along and turns my pacer box Dow, then off and I have a turn!!!!! Back to ICU to have a pacemaker fitted. Then decided to move me again because they couldn't fit it in yesterday, then having told me it would be today, they then got a cancellation and operated last night and sent me straight back to general ward. Pacer wires now out, drains out and already up and walking. Has a crap and even morphine and Tramadole couldn't touch it, but been okay during the day.

Onwards and upwards.

Wendy

So pleased to hear from you Wendy, it sounds like you have had a bit of a roller coaster few days. Sounds like you are turning a corner now your pacemaker is fitted and wires are out.

I go in tomorrow for my op on Thursday so will be out of the zone for a while.

Meanwhile rest up and continue to recover well.

Love and hugs,

Dory xxx❤️💕❣️

I've started to note any tips I read from members so that I'm prepared. Have you got any useful tips for me? Love and best wishes for your continued progress. Margaret xx

Thanks for all your lovely comments and support. Have not had a good night's sleep since I got here, and shoulders are killing me. Staff have been A1 and cannot fault them. Food tastes like sawdust but that is as a result of the anaesthetic so should improve over the next couple of weeks. Also extremely hard to concentrate, again from the anaesthetic.

Have had all the sutures out and now building up my energy and walking

Hope to escape at the weekend xx

Hi Wendy I have been thinking about you for the last few days wondering how the op went, sounds like you had a rough time but glad to hear things are picking up.

I remember after my op being unable to concentrate on anything but like you say it is all the anaesthetic they give you.

Hope you manage to get home this weekend and keep improving every day with lots of rest.

Best wishes

Annette
