I had a pancreatic operation about 12 years ago and ihad a whipple operation. It has left me with a couple of life long problems. Constant bloating, bile duct problems and the worst problem is either constipated or diarrhoea.
I do take a power every night called Laxido to help and it works but it mainly causes diarrhoea.
I recently found out that to have constant diarrhoea can do damage so again I am somewhat concerned.
I really cant remember when I last had a normal bowl movement. Can any one recommend something that works? Not the shop bought type because they are not strong enough. Any suggestion will be gratefully received.

Bishop1. Thank you for the suggestion but it is much more serious than that....and in any case I did do that yeas ago after the op but it just got worse. Thank you again.
I hope you do get answers. I'm also on laxido and just can't get the dose right; it's either too much or too little and since I have sever abdominal adhesions, not taking enough creates such severe pain I am bedridden. I've been given all sorts of different meds but they all cause too much bloating and pain to cope with. A friend's daughter was on 14 laxido a day and ended up with impaction; even after that was treated she still took 4 laxido a day. For her ( Not having your problems) taking a glass of pineapple juice every morning sorted it out. It hasn't worked for me but prunes alongside the laxido do help. I realise our problems are not as serious as yours.
I guess I am fairly luck really when you hear about over people problems, but with my bowel problem, my angina and also a bile duct problem it is not easy.I find that 1 laixido sort of works for me, but am concerned about how long one can take it before one get even more internal problems. Anyone know?
I've been on it every day for a year now and before that about three times a week. I suspect like most things your body gets used to it and the dose increases over time but that's something you'd have to ask a pharmacist or a GP.
