Are icd's good

A family member may have to have an icd fitted ..really worried any ideas? Thank you x

Don't worry it's the safest they will ever be, and u soon get used to it being there, just think of it as a back up for heart if it plays up

If their consultant thinks it's a good idea, then why not? I had one fitted about six months ago and I have had no problems. I didn't think I needed it, but she said it was better to do it before my condition got any worse. It's quite a simple operation, just needs a bit of care for a couple of weeks after.
