Be Persistent

Thanks all you lovely people for your response to my question about burning feeling in legs. Much appreciated.

Here is a bit of advice - keep chasing up appointments, referral letters etc. I saw a cardiologist last September regarding another ablation or pacemaker. He said he would refer me to a specialist from London who visits my local hospital once a week. I thought it would take a while before I got an appointment because of COVID 19. Anyway, I decided to check up on progress yesterday. The receptionist was very apologetic and informed me that the referral letter hadn’t been sent. She said she would sort it out, and indeed she did because a got an email this afternoon offering me an appointment on 12th March!! I wish I had checked sooner but like a lot of people, I didn’t want to bother the hospital knowing how stretched they are.

Please keep enquiring about the progress of your appointments , procedures etc

It's a difficult balance isn't it. You don't want to be a nuisance because of the pressure of Covid, but you don't want to miss important treatment. Let's hope the situation improves soon.

Yes I hope the pressure on the NHS decreases.I believe it is because I have a face to face appointment, the first for a year, and not a telephone consultation as before.
