Hello and welcome to the forum!

Your profile says you have been stented and are concerned about your cholesterol. Are there any other issues like hypertension, diabetes, etc? What are your cholesterol levels like? There is only a certain amount that can be achieved by lifestyle changes unless you go to extremes like a vegan diet. There are a number of statins and different Doses. Have you tried many? There are also alternative drugs to statins. All the best - MichaelJH

Hello Michael...thank you for welcome..I’ve not been able to tolerate statins or the most recently Repatha 140 mg pre filled pen So down to diet until something I’m able to get on with comes along

Have you tried Ezetimibe? This works for some people who are statin intolerant. It's worth discussing with your doctor if you haven't. Good luck.

Hi Steve

A warm welcome to

You from us all here on this forum 😊.

I was stented following HA last April. The hospital put me on 80mg of statins which luckily I havn’t had a problem with .

Like Michael said you can do it with diet but meds seem to achieve the highest results .

Perhaps your Gp could offer a different one to try ?

All the best anyway when did you have your HA ?

Hello Emmy thank you for welcome and reply..I’ve been under a specialist at Lipid clinic since stent fitted..have regular monitoring and they have tried various medications but the side effects are life changing...unable to function.. work ..drive ..live.. but I have suffered with medication side effects for other treatments for some reason ..the stent certainly made a difference..hope you are keeping well in these difficult times ., Steve 😊
