Back in 2019 I had raised blood pressure 159/72, high cholesterol 5.4 and a history of an extremely low heart rate. I am 73 don't drink nor smoke, walk, windsurf, and mountain bike. The fact that I had high blood pressure and cholesterol even with my healthy lifestyle was never taken into account. I was not offered ANY treatment until my heart attack on September 13th 2020. DO NOT LEAVE IT TO THE MEDICAL PROFFESSION TAKE ACTION YOURSELF.

Thanks for your reply. I was always active prior to my heart attack.
I am 64, 5ft 9, weigh 178 pounds and could regularly walk 10k even with a fused right ankle.
My BP was around 130/85 which used to be good but now the medical profession think is high. With all the post op medication it is now 110/65. I now suffer from posterial hypotension, ie I almost pass out when standing up or bend over to pick something up.
Doctors don't seem concerned, seems to them that blood pressure is more important than my constant dizziness.
Hi crash999, may I suggest if you have not yet, look up some of the on line reports about hypotension, as you may already know low BP may indicate low adrenal hormones which requires further investigation, I have found Dr s will listen if you have at hand a case study that refers to your symptoms be it about a condition you have not been diagnosed with.
Your resting heart rate is ? The lower reading on your blood pressure is a rather low and I am not surprised you are getting dizzy spells. I think I would ask for a second opinion. Has this prescription been made by a GP or a Cardiologist?
Below 60 is getting into low pressure, below 50 is getting into falling down territory. Any sudden pressure drop, e.g. standing up suddenly, could cause syncope, with possibly physically damaging consequences caused by falling as you get older. Try and keep a record in your diary of your dizzy spells and any problems you have on standing.
Be aware that fainting events could result in your driving 🚘 licence being withdrawn while the medics figure out what is going on. ou are better investigating what is going on before it causes real problems.
Perhaps you could consider asking to see a cardiologist in order to to get a more expert opinion. If you can't get any progress with this consider extracting about £175- 200 for a private appointment, which should come through very quickly and give you more certainty.
