PAD and severe calf pain. Does it worsen

I have PAD. The surgery has advised not to undergo surgery. I am concerned about the eventual outcome.

Had the same thing. Had invasive surgery and got it cleared. Have you been scanned. Exercise helped me some, walking. Why wonder he operate?

Got the impressions too risky. Yes had numerous scans. Including one further up at the aorta artery site. I do walk but pain is pretty bad.

I have PAD and am also a high risk patient due to my anatomy so am not eligible for surgery. Generally walking does improve matters as I do grow these collateral vessels so my body grows them around the blockages.

They do however collapse which means I have to walk every day. I try to walk 8,000 or so steps a day. If I go over 10,000 my legs will get cramps etc at night. I’ve also learned the hard way that having a bath at night will be followed by a crampy night.

Every once in a while I get a reward walk when everything feels normal. But walking is difficult but it’s what’s keeping me mobile.

The dr should be able to let you know if you are growing these vessels.

Are you on best medical treatment - a range of medications which can really help.
