Palpitations and Tremors

Hi everyone,

My mum had quadrupled bypass almost 8 weeks ago. She is experiencing Palpitations and her heart beating very fast, she is experiencing tremors on her left side mostly at nights. Also feels dizzy and have numbness on her feet. Anyone have any experiences of this please. I would be greatful for your input. Thanks

Hi EB2021,

It sounds like your Mum would be best speaking to her GP or cardiologist about this, just to check that everything is as it should be. One other thought, have you checked her drug information sheets for side effects? I ask because tremors is a side effect of Amiodarone, a drug frequently given to cardiac patients.

Hi there,

Thanks for replying. Mum have spoken with her Cardiologist and they advised this is normal and it will get better in time. She is on Astrovasatin, Ramprill, bisoprolol and Asparin. I will check if the side effects to see if any of these contains Aiodarone. It's worth mentioning mum have Parkinsons but she weren't having these symptoms pre surgery.
