Covid19 - Left me with heart issues - seeking Cardiologist

Hi I had Covid19 in March, a severe case and should have gone to hospital but told to stay home. My breathing was very restricted and believe my heart was overcompensating for the lack of oxygen in my blood. My heart felt like it was going to pound right out of my chest it was pounding so hard and fast at times when I was acutely sick with Covid, even though I told 111 that i could only breath in the top portion of my lungs (above my breasts). Still he told me to stay home. Fwd. I had heart issues and what felt like heart attck in June went to A&E had high D-Dimer and they gave me a CT Angio/pulm to check for blood clot. I had no sign of clot in my chest area, I asked what about clots in other areas of my body.. they had no response. The sent me home. FWD to Oct/Nov I have had more heart issues palps & skipping or extra heart beats.

I NEED TO FIND A CARDIOLOGIST! Asap! Can someone recommend one who has dealt with Covid patients & Long Covid Patients? Somewhere in London or Oxford.

Thank you so much, please stay safe and take care x

Hello,

The forum guidelines say we are unable to give out the names of individual doctors, or hospitals.

Ask your GP to refer you to a Cardiologist in a hospital in Oxford or London.

There are several very good hospitals all with Cardiologists experienced in caring for patients with Covid and heart conditions in particular all the major hospitals in London.

Good luck!

You can ask your GP to refer you to the nearest Long Covid clinic where you should be able to get an assessment by a multi-disciplinary team.

Chase this up. I had a covid cough last February which caused me down discomfort across my chest and down my left arm everyone I coughed, I didn't go to hospital. Forward a few months had some chest pains (had LAD stent Sept19) GTN didn't work pain wouldn't go away first time in 50 years I had ambulance out, did ECG and were a bit dismissive took me in anyway saying panic attack they did bloods and stated d dimer showed a blood clot, sent me home called me back for heart and lung check but nothing showed. I have ischaemia in my head also and went numb down left side but didn't check my head. Upshot was I was waiting since March for a dobutomine stress test which I had in sept 20 finally and it showed a diagonal artery had 2 bits of build up which were not there the sept before ...since then and throughout most of 2020 I had a lot of angina pain and even now I am still having to use my GTN. Make sure you get to see a cardio as no one knows what this virus can do inside and none of us can see but we know when something isn't right. Hope you get it sorted
