I have right lung hypoplasia with pseudo dextrocardia, where can I find advice for living with this? Nobody seems to know.

I've had right lung hypoplasia with pseudo dextrocardia since birth (now 45), I was under consultant care until 1996 when I moved to France for 5 years, upon my return I was in good health and didn't seek further consultant care. With the onset of coronavirus, my concerns have been raised but I can find no information about my condition or how to obtain advice.

Sorry to hear you have two rare congenital conditions. My understanding is that hypoplasia limits the supply of oxygenated blood to the heart which should not limit your day to day activities. From the little I know your form of dextrocardia whilst unusual is not that serious.

My gut feeling is that you should do everything possible to protect your heart - healthy diet, healthy weight, regular exercise as appropriate (professionals really need to advise you on this), BP and cholesterol levels in range, and definitely no smoking!

Apologies for being rather vague but I am somewhat out of my comfort zone. I would suggest a good starting point would be to ring the BHF nurses. Good luck and do keep us updated.
