Cold hands and feet
Hello Pitt. I suffer with very cold hands and feet too. To the extent that my fingers go purple. Mine is low blood pressure I think. I wear socks all the time and gloves during the day. I'm not sure that anything can be done for me but you may want to mention it to hubby's GP.
Hi, me too! I have a low BP + Raynauds ..purple fingertips! I wear socks in bed even during heatwave! Lately I have been so cold in the afternoons, that is at home, with heating on, blanket over me, sweatshirt with hood up, and hot drinks....and my feet and hands like icicles!Had AVR in July...and don't have any other issues. 😊
Hi I’ve just had a heart attack and have been prescribed beta blockers. My hands and particularly feet are freezing. I think it’s a classic side effect. I would talk to your Doctor or Pharmacist. Good luck
Yes. My husband sits with his feet in a foot hot water bottle ( which is brilliant) in all but the hottest weather. It’s the beta blockers I think. His hands get very cold outdoors too. Our house is like an oven and it’s difficult to socialise ( in the good old days) because he is so cold everywhere we go 😐. Not sure there’s a solution apart from thermal socks and hot water bottles.
Me too
Me, too. You do learn to live with it!
I wonder what your husband was like before his HA. If his hands and feet were warm before, then it is likely to be the medication he is on which presumably includes a beta blocker, maybe Bisoprolol.
If he had cold hands and feet before his HA and the situation has got worse, then he might have Raynauds Syndrome. I have had Raynauds since being a youngster and it appears to be hereditary as my kids (kids! - ha, now 40 and 37😁) have it too. Adding Bisoprolol to my meds certainly made things worse. Just taking a bottle of milk out of the fridge can set it off. My fingers go beyond purple, they go white! I've just had to learn to live with it as I feel the benefit of taking the beta blocker is worthwhile.
Thanks. Yes I think it is the medication . Seems worse than after first ha but I think there was increase in his prescription
I remember walking from the hairdressers to the bank which was only a couple of shop fronts away and frightening the lady in the queue in front because my lips had turned purple! It was all I could do to stop her from calling an ambulance. The more I tried to explain that it was ok I have Heart Failure the more she worried. And when she saw my fingers!!
