Electrical issues

Got my results back from my echo and angiogram and it was good news. My valves were structurally good and I didn’t have any narrowing or hardening arteries. My issue is purely electrical. The doctor didn’t give it a name so my question is what the hell have I got? He has changed my tablets from bisoprolol 5mg to nebivolol 5mg due to the fatigue and weight gain I’ve been suffering. I’m still an out patient with the hospital but I still feel like my diagnosis isn’t confirmed with a proper name.

Hi , I was recently diagnosed as having electrical heart problems, there are various types but as far as I know come under AV blockage. I had a pacemaker fitted to correct mine. Hope this helps.

Yes it does, I’m still getting my head round the whole heart thing. Good luck with your continued health 👍

I have electrical problems as in a Left Bundle Branch Block (LBBB). It means that the left side of my heart is slightly slower to contact than the right. I was dx 5 years ago and am due (all going well) to have a HIS bundle pacemaker op on Tuesday. There are different types of 'electrical problem' so best to ask your doctor or cardiologist if you are worried.

It sounds like you have an arrhythmia of some sort (there are different types) I have had a type of arrhythmia for many years and was also prescribed wirh bisoprolol. Quite a few cardiologists, over the years, have told me that they do not know what causes many types of arrhythmia. Sadly, I have recently been diagnosed with afib, which is a bit more of a concern, though it is still an arrhythmia. Afib puts people at a higher risk of stroke and usually has to be treated with blood thinners. Don't worry, you do not have that type of arrhythmia - you most certainly would have been told. Unlike other arrhythmias, afib usually is due to an underlying cause. I am going to see a cardiologist next Monday and will find out a bit more then, as I'm sure to undergo further tests. Feeling nervous bit good luck with yours - it doesn't sound like it's too much to worry about. All the best.

Thank you. With my appointments being by phone, it’s hard to get all the answers you want and you feel time is limited for the doctor. They are really busy.

Yes, it is hard in these strange times but I do think that you would likely have a face to face appt if they had any concerns from your previous appt (echo etc.) I don't recall ever getting a 'name' for my particular arrhythmia and only got a name when I developed afib, which is a name that you don't particularly want to hear. As I mentioned, it really doesn't sound like you have that as you would probably have been put on blood thinners. Incidentally, I was told by a cardiologist that there is no connection between afib and my other type of arrhythmia. It does sound like they have got your arrhythmia under control but I do realise that it is all very scary when it is all new stuff you're having to get your head round. It always helps to write down any questions and concerns before any appt. I have a growing list for mine next week! Mine is face to face but I think that is because it is a new diagnosis from having been carted off by ambulance to A&E twice and they will have to look into possible underlying reasons so will have to undergo more tests and investigations. Try not to worry too much

Thank you for your reply. Hope all went well with your appointment. I have mine in a few days now so will make a list of questions 😉

I understand your problems because just recently I had to face almost the same situation. The problem was a malfunction of the main electricity meter, which it was time to change long ago, but we did not take this problem seriously before. That is why there was a short circuit that deprived us of electricity for two days. We have been waiting for a specialist for a long time, but then we decided to contact another company, namely bates-electric.com/. Half an hour after the call, the specialists from this company arrived and in 20 minutes we already had electricity
