If you are looking for travel medical insurance as long as you are not actively undergoing diagnosis and treatment there are several companies that will cover. There is more information under Topics - travel insurance on the right hand side bar. If you are looking for private medical insurance cover and you are in the UK it is unlikely you will find cover for a pre exisiting heart condition. This does not prevent you from seeing a cardiologist privately. My husband chose to pay for a consult £150 and CT angiogram £850 after finding out there was a 4-6 month wait. He did not require a referral from his GP to be seen. Ironically he was seen by a cardiologist who works at our local NHS hospital and the angio was fine, but could have been referred back to the NHS if it had been needed.
