Finally ...... had my phone call, it was my actual own cardiologist!!!!!!
He mentioned several things but still no mri results ๐ก he apologised and said heโd personally get it sorted and ring me back in a few days ๐ ๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป
He said my ultrasound showed my heart at the bottom is not pumping blood around properly so could be damaged which would also fit with the ECG.
Also micro vascular angina and what he called prinzmetal angina!!!!!
He said my ECG showed an extensive infarct age undetermined ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ
So after saying that Iโm now a bit scared until I get my results back !!!!!!

Hurrah, you got to speak to your cardiologist so so pleased for you, realise you have still some unanswered questions but from what you say things are going in the right direction and fingers crossed he phones you back with the results of your MRI try not to worry I know easier said than done. Hope youโve had a least one walnut whip ๐ you certainly deserve it, just get the dentist sorted now!Pauline
I couldnโt believe I actually got my own cardiologist, I went over drive and me being me said โ oh...... Dr ? ....., is it really you..... really.... Iโm just so happy to speak to you, โ felt like a 13 year old groupie ๐๐๐๐poor man ๐ฅด thank you so much ๐ค
I did, it was on an ECG I had in the ambulance in the spring, he didnโt have a copy of that or a few others, so Iโm going to email them to him tomorrow, he said it could be my heart May be damaged but wouldnโt like to say more until heโs seen the MRI results. Hopefully just a few more days ๐
Hi - that sounds similar to the aftermath of my HA in July. I'm 51, male. My follow up MRI (which was done in October to see if the thrombus (clot) in my LV had cleared (it has) ) showed that "the tip of my heart is not working as well as it should" (my cardiologist's words). So I asked what that means - what's the tip of the heart, why is it important etc. He explained that our heart muscle is at its thinnest at the bottom (tip) of the heart, and is the area of the heart that suffers first when a blocked artery occurs at the top of the heart. I asked if it would recover - he sat on the fence a bit and said its 50/50 and I'm four months on from the HA. Reading between the lines I suspect it won't, and is perhaps dead muscle. My ejection fraction is 45% which he said was good considering the 'size' of the HA I had - they typically see an ejection fraction of 30% after a HA of my size. Normal ejection fraction is 55 to 60%. The consequence is I am more at risk of developing another clot at the tip of my heart so he has kept me on the Rivaroxaban meds, the original plan was to take me off it and reinstate aspirin. Next follow up is in January. Hope sharing this may help.
Right, so your heart isn't pumping at the bottom as well as he'd like, an ECG shows an infarction he wants more investigation on to check for damage, and you not only have microvascular angina, you also have what he's calling prinzmetal angina (I believe that is actually known nowadays as vasospastic angina but best to check with Milkfairy on that).
Not to ruin your evening but it sounds as though you've won something of an unfortunate lottery - but it's not all bad as now the hunt for the right treatment regime for you can get going in earnest.
That's a big plus despite the not so great results so far; the MRI results will likely show the amount of damage, if any, from the infarction among other things - GREAT to hear he's going to chase those results and will call you in a few days to update you.
I well understand you're feeling 'anxious' but what you've heard today, whilst not the greatest news on the surface, is a huge step forward towards working out a treatment plan and that's a very good thing!
Fluffybee positives are that you got speaking with the appropriate person who seems to have a handle on what type of angina(s) you have. Also he has taken on responsibility to chase the mri results which is also good. You know that these heart issues can be managed ( thereโs always something in the toolkit) to help us so focus on that aspect please. My mum had a quadruple bypass at 39 following my birth she had AF and cornary artery disease all her adult life. The medics always had something to throw at it. She passed away in her 90th year having lived a wonderful life. Things may have got you down a bit today and thatโs normal but the doctors are on it so keep pushing forward, all will be well...think your entitled to 2 walnut whips today x.
I know it will have come as a shock hearing what he had to say to say the least but on a positive note he can start to put together a treatment plan for you ๐๐ค๐ค
And hopefully in a few days he'll be able to give you your MRI results which hopefully will put the last puzzle piece together ๐ค๐ค
FluffybeeGood news that you got to speak to your Cardiologist.
I suggest you send the copy of the ECG the paramedics performed to your Cardiologist for review.
An ECG cannot be used in isolation to make a diagnosis.
The Cardiologist will I am sure chase up your MRI results and once they have all the information they will be able to make an more accurate diagnosis and then hopefully you can get a treatment plan.
As Sunnie said Vasospastic angina is the term more commonly used to describe coronary artery spasms/ Prinzmetal angina.
WOOT - I'm learning But it's all thanks to you, Milkfairy, for example I would never have known to ask my cardiologist about MVA when he did the angio and it came up showing crystal clear arteries.
It was a lovely moment really, he did a double take and said 'You know, I think that's exactly what it is!' and a few days later he telephoned and said he'd put me on the list for the definitive test but he was becoming convinced MVA is the answer. No rush on the test, I'm no longer 'urgent' thanks to medication and lifestyle adjustments so I am continually bumped to the backest of the back of the queue but I would never have known to ask without reading your posts here.
Hope you're tucked up cosy and warm, all settled in for winter.
I echo all that's been said not good news exactly but your on the right track to get the correct treatment now keep positive and enjoy your walnut wips.
I feel your excitement - after a diagnosis back in February, I was finally called yesterday to book a telephone clinic appointment in 2 weeks!! Now I just have to remember all the questions I had 10 months ago... ๐คHope you get some more results/answers soon xx
I was a strong fluffy bee/wrllieflump today, I saw a whole stack of walnut whips all in beautiful blue boxes stacked with care, the picture on the front of a whip with an actual nut on the top !!!!!!! The creamy chocolate etc...... I wiped the drool away and walked past without buying any, go me ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
Hi Fluffybee, glad you got to talk to the main man, hopefully he will answer all your questions very soon, what a complicated lot we are ๐, enjoy your walnut whips, Iโm on the shrimps and bananas, big kid ๐คฃ xxx
I remember those ๐คญ๐คญ๐คญ all spongy snd squidgy !!
I quite like a squashy the original flavour not particular โsweetโ person more chocolate, wish I was a salad freak. I really do, I love a good sprout though ๐คญ๐คญ
Yes they are the ones ๐, I really shouldnโt laugh, got to start eating healthier, I like most fruit and veg, but no salad๐คขIโve put on nearly a stone because of eating too many there thereโs, but what a year!๐ฉ, take care ๐ค
๐๐๐ a little of something does you good, trouble is it should be now and again !!!!!
Iโm now going to be more sensible with my diet, walnut whips are going to be a challenge, maybe only one box of 6 a day ๐ฅด๐ฅด๐ฅด (joke)
So Iโm with you on the eating better bit.
Since Iโve started on the heart meds on top of my original ones itโs knocked me backwards big time, with the meds and the condition I donโt do much exercise.
Just smiling at your post, bought some new scales thought I better had as this was the only way I new of checking on my retention of fluid if they started tweaking my meds, anyway found some in the Black Friday sale said it would give me a read out of all sorts of stuff including water had to download an app to my iPhone. Well they arrived last week๐ฉ my readings are awful! Apart from my water and a couple of other things! Husband are are either excellent or average ๐ now thatโs given me pause for thought will have to stop the curly whirly and chocolate digestives ๐
๐๐๐๐๐ at least it wasnโt one of those ones that scream out your weight ๐ณ๐ณ
Iโm going to put one of those pigs in my fridge so every time I open it everyone knows with loud piggy grunts..... oh go on then I know youโre thinking it . My walnut whip cupboard as well ๐๐๐
Itโs weird, one minute Iโm ok and laughing about it, next really nervous, I have an early pick up Tuesday morning at 4:30๐ณ, canโt see me sleeping that night, I feel such a woose, when other people on here are having much worse๐, hope you are ok?, and get that phone call, so you know where you are โค๏ธ๐คxxx
My husband thinks they are great, all his readings were excellent or average! The only one that was a bit off was BMI๐ he thought it was hilarious ๐ฉ my age he his 6 years older than me so this was saying we are the same age๐ฉ
Iโd never use that, it sounds hideous !!!!! Iโd hate to hear what mine had to say, with that, pigs grunting in random cupboards, I couldnโt cope ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ
๐๐๐๐ sorry but I can just imagine you little face when you saw the result, bet you did it again incase it was wrong didnโt you, I know I would ๐ค๐ค
Donโt worry, Iโm on it, lots of piggies being checked online for the loudest snort, just have to gather them all up if I fall off the Wagon ๐ฅด๐ฅด ๐ท ๐ท ๐ท
