Propranolol help please!

Hi, I’ve been on propranolol for 8 days. 40 gm per day taken in 2 x 20 mg doses. Started on a half dose for a few days as my heart is quite sensitive to palpitations and I have long QT (discovered by chance years ago and without incident).

Started the propranolol because I’ve had a few long episodes of palpitations over the last 10 days which have woken me up in the night and carried in for several hours. (Not really fast beats but just irregular ones and a bit disconcerting)

Don’t think the propranolol has worked as still having a few.

Want to come if it now as saw Dr today and she said my heart beat is less than 50 per minute so have to stop.

She said I can stop straight away as I’ve only been on a low dose for a week or so but I have been warned not to stop suddenly by others.

I took a very strong anti inflammatory today as I have sprained my shoulder and have been having palpitations ever since ( prescribed by same drug). I’m due to take the second daily dose of propranolol about now or stop but I really don’t want to make my palpitations worse!

Apparently anti inflammatories can interact with propranolol and give the opposite effect....

What should I do? Anyone had any similar experiences?
