Sleep oh to sleep has anyone else suffered the same after bypass

I am ok one year after triple bypass but I wish I could sleep better. I find I wake up and read after a few hours sleep. It’s as though my new recycled body has changed gear and my circadian rhythm is all to pot.

I am also one year on since my triple bypass and I suffer from insomnia. Any time I have mentioned this to GP have been informed that this can be a common issue after major heart surgery. Have been offered sleeping tablets but declined. Four to five hours maximum then very restless and my mind all over the place

Thanks for your reply. I feel exactly the same. Can’t stop my erratic mind galloping on . Hope Justine day I can wake up after a full nights sleep😦

During my rehab we had relaxation classes which to be honest I did not pay much attention to. Think I may investigate this option as I have tried everything else. But as GP has mentioned your body must be ok with the amount of sleep I get as other than mentally I am ok

Hope you find a a way to get a sleep soon

A year?

Oh heck - i have so far to go...

Hi Pollypuss,

I was in hospital for 3 weeks before and after open heart surgery and once home I was only able to sleep for an hour and a half at a time, it does get better. I found I needed a nap after lunch in the beginning too.

Wishing you well

Elaine ❤️
