Posted this morning that I will be having bypass surgery on 4th November. Just been contacted from hospital that one of my tests shows I have a 50-70% blockage in the artery on my neck! This has to be sorted out before I can have my bypass. Really scared and worried now. Has anyone else had this happen and what was the outcome. Terrified of having a stroke.

So sorry that you have had this shock but think on the positive side at least they found the problem before surgery which is a blessing as it could have complicated your bypass surgery.
Sending you best wishes for whatever is to come and hope all goes well .

The person (now retired) who used to service my cars was found to have narrowed cartoid arteries in the pre-op for a bypass. As the arteries are just under the skin it is a straightforward procedure that takes one to two hours. If both arteries are affected the second will usually be done about a fortnight later All things being equal you should still get your bypass this year.
