Hi i wrote a post on here a while ago about experiencing chest pain and tightness over the past few months, been to a&e a few times but sent home, and how i had been for an echo and 48 hour trace, my cardiologist sent my results through saying heart function was fine but i was experiencing high heart rate of up to 140bpm, his only advice was to go on bisoprolol, my gp has refered me for an endoscopy even though i have been on a course of lanosoprozole and this didnt help, and of course thanks to covid god knows when i am going to get an appointment, i am coming to the end of my course of bisoprolol and have had no further contact with my cardiologist, should i ask my gp to get in contact and ask to make me an appointment or will i just be knocked back as i am waiting for the endoscopy, blooming during a pandemic is a great time for all this stuff to kick off, any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Troubles with Chest Pain and tightness
I would certainly contact your GP practice and ask for a call back.
It's not a good idea to just stop any medication so get advice from gp.
Best wishes

Hi mikeyboy
I really like the advice that ellj has written.
I suggest that, in a more general way, once we have heart disease, we have it or the high potential for it for the rest of our lives. So I now ask the medics a question whenever they prescribe a different drug, or even just make dose changes, "Is this a permanent change, how long will I be taking these pills?"
I do the same with tests that I now have on a regular basis. If the pills are essentially for the rest of my life, then they should be on repeat prescription.
It just gets everything clear. It allows me to take charge, or at least feel I know what should be happening in my treatment regime. Maybe your doc has less time now, with covid around, and we need to fill the gap left.
Best wishes to you, and I hope you get the pills you need.

Hi MB.. definitely speak to your gp if the bisoprolol has helped you and he should be chasing up further test, I was very timid when it came to health care professionals and never questioned them but now I realise my health is the most important thing and only I know how I feel and how to communicate that.
Trouble is when I do start asking questions they sometimes bamboozle me with information .
Hope you find your ansews
