HI, all has gone well re my op and recovery. However, I never feel hungry and eat to live and recover. Also I am getting bouts of diarrhoea for a couple of days about once a week. Should I let anyone know about this or will it just get better in time? I am isolating with my wife so not catching a bug from anyone. My weight is staying constant.

Hi, my first thought would be the meds. But.. after 7 weeks i would have thought your body would have got used to them. Perhaps alter your diet a bit to include a bit more fibre? porridge is good at this time of year. If it continues speak to your GP. HTH

I would suggest you speak to your GP.

I developed bad diarrhoea around 6 weeks post op, which coincided with me stopping the painkillers (Dihydrocodeine), appears that the painkillers can cause constipation & Lansoprazole can cause diarrhoea, which kind of cancelled each other out, until painkillers stopped.

Dr stopped the Lansoprazole and diarrhoea stopped, put me on Omeprazole and no problems since.

Hi, gaz_chops is correct, anything ***codeine based will bung you up. Once you stop or reduce the dose your body will flow "freely" for a while!

Hi I am 10 weeks post surgery and it's only now I feel vaguely hungry, I am slightly underweight so I have just been eating because I know I have to, the hospital also gave me ensure a protein drink to help as well, I have a terrible taste due to side effects which doesn't help, I also had stomach problems, I told my consultant and she adjusted one of my tablets from 2x500 a day to 4x250 low and behold stomach immediately got better, it might be worth mentioning it to your doc in case they can adjust anything, unfortunately I have to live with the taste for now 🙄 char
