Is a 14 day isolation period mandatory before a planned heart procedure these days ?

Isolation before heart procedures
It may depend on area you live but my experience is that you have a covid test two days before planned procedure then temperature check on the day.
The rules at my local hospital are covid test then isolate for 3 days and that's for any procedure.
I am in NW, had my procedure mid August. Had to self isolate (whole family) 2 weeks and then Covid test a couple of days before.
I had to isolate for 14 days and then a Covid test 2 days beforehand. Was happy to do so, knowing I was clear and not putting the staff at risk. Given that the Covid test isn’t a 100% I understand the need to take extra precautions
Hi Jalia, I was told 5 weeks ago, self isolate for one week, Covid test 3 days before, That was for Barts hospital, may have changed now. Xx
My op was end of August. My family and I had to isolate for 14 days and I was tested for Covid 3 days before and the day before. Agree with JennyRx that it gave me confidence that everything was being done to keep Covid out of the hospital.
In SW - covid swab two days before and then isolate until procedure.
Yes, I am in the south east. Quite frankly you should do it if told. I spent more than 3 months in my house once I got home as told to by my consultant. They spend their lives mending our hearts the least we can do is a bit of time self isolating.
My husband recently had a cryo ablation at Liverpool Heart & Chest hospital; he was given notice of the op on 4th Sept, went for pre op on Tuesday 8th covid tested and was told to isolate until his op on the 10th.
It makes sense to enter hospital with as little risk as possible, you will have enough to cope with without corvid.
here in Brighton i have to lockdown 14days and have test 2 days before opp which i am booked for tomorrow and then its complete isolation until opp on Wednesday... this time next week avr and triple bypass will be done, wish me luck, truth be told i am scared out of my wits and worried about coping when i get home... but all to do now is show up and let the docs do their thing
I had to abide by Covid rules and take extra care for11 daysup to covid test, but Covid test 3 days prior and total isolate from then till procedure. (Hampshire) I have a different op due on 30th and have been given the same rules.
If I was having a heart procedure I would isolate for the longest possible time. I would hate to get to the day only to find that I was unable to have it. But your Med team should be advising you on it.
Two weeks ago I had cardioversion here in South Wales. Mandatory Covid test 3 days before was the only stipulation prior to the day.
I live in Wales I had a quad bypass 6 weeks ago. I was told i had to isolate for 14 days, and my stepdaughter had to move out and not move back in until 2 weeks after I came home. I had a covid test 2 days before being admitted to hospital.
I was admitted to hospital in Wales in late July via ambulance on GP's advice after mild symptoms and after a few days had angiogram and learned i needed bypass and would have to wait for a week or two in the ward then isolate in single room for two weeks before the operation. But as I was able to have our home to myself for the two weeks and strictly shield, they let me isolate at home instead of in hospital. I had a doorstep Covid test three days before op. Had op in mid Aug and discharged after two weeks. Nurses wore masks but patients only had to if we left the ward (like to go into corridor to walk or go to loo or shower). But Covid was at low level then, compared to now. I assume things are stricter now.
