This documentary was meant to be aired on national television but was not because of CovID. Puzzles me why! 🤔

Thank you for sharing this, I found it very interesting.

Very poignant, and particularly painful to watch if you are a HF patient with a young family. The message about increasing awareness is important, but I was puzzled (and disturbed) by elements of Sunil’s journey - especially the initial ‘2 weeks to live’ prognosis combined with his NYHA class 2 reference. Without that context this could be a very scary watch for anyone with a recent diagnosis of HF.

What a shame it hasn't been aired as it shows exactly how Heart Failure is viewed. I, too, thought I was about to die, especially when the nurse at the hospital told me to go home and make the decisions for end of life. This forum and Pumping Marvellous have really helped me come to terms with my condition and look forward to my future with hope. I'm 2 years on from my diagnosis and have my fingers crossed I have many more years to enjoy.

Thank you for sharing it, Michael, let's hope it is aired before too long.

Live long and prosper!!!

Extremely poignant. The message about awareness for HF is so true. I was diagnosed with HF and Type 2 diabetes in Jan 2019 - my GP surgery swung into action and booked me a slot to see the Diabetic nurse, who did all the tests and talked to me diet, lifestyle etc and passed my details on the the local NHS authority, who got in touch regarding numerous educational talks about how to cope with the condition, and at each of these talks I was able to pick up a number of leaflets on the subject. All very useful, and with the changes to diet etc my HbA1c is now steadily heading back down.

Heart Failure - GP not particularly helpful when I started asking questions, beyond saying I'd probably not die from HF - oh goody - what then Kidney failure, COPD?? There is almost no information out there on the subject. When I started going to cardio rehab, as well as rehab there were also a number of educational talks on all aspects of heart issues, including a talk on Living with Heart Failure, and I was able to pick up a copy of the very helpful booklet produced by the BHF. The nurses were also superb and were happy to spend time answering my questions - in fact they initiated the allocation of a HF nurse - my GP didn't even mention this!

Since Jan 2019 I've been gathering up information on the subject and continue to avidly read any creditable articles on it. After initially being told you've got HF and Dr Google telling me I'd be dead within the year, I'm now much more informed and realise that it is hopefully something that can be managed, but yes Heart Failure is the elephant in the room.

RIP Sunil

I watched the documentary and I was saddened by what happened to this family. My criticism is that it didn’t have a positive balance. I understand there could not be a “happy ending” but I would have liked to see something, anything that showed their fight had achieved something.
