Resting heart rate

Just looking for advice. My resting heart rate sits at 53/54 bmp. Sometimes I feel a small flutter that makes me cough. My mum passed of hypertensive heart disease and my uncle passed with another heart condition his artery was 3 times the thickness it should have been. My aunty got checked after my mum passed and she has a condition where her blood wasn’t getting pumped properly. These are from both sides of my family. Should I be concerned about mine? I’m not on any medication and otherwise healthy.

I totally agree with Thatwasunexpected it would be worth mentioning to your GP and maybe getting a check for piece of mind. My RHR can be anything from 34 up. I am still waiting on further diagnosis. What you have described with regards to your Aunty is EF(Ejection Fraction) this is whereby the blood is not getting pumped at the right speed to other major organs from the left ventricle through the aorta. Normal is 60% under 40% needs further investigation.Take care

As above, I have RHR of 69 occasionally 70 taken before I get out of bed, any other time of day it's about 80 upwards.

I assume we are all a bit different ?

Mine is usually no lower than 69 RHR.

Now I am reading your reply thinking, oh dear.
