Lots of us have Afib, the Afib forum is a useful place to post.

How are you managing with your diagnosis? The afib site is very good and the arrhythmia alliance.I don't have afib.....yet but I do have 'atrial arrhythmia'.The cardiologist says I don't have enough of it to call it afib.I'm on propanolol which helps.

That's understandable, I only get wobbles with my heart mostly but I did get one episode of about twenty minutes recently and I found that scary.Of course my recent test didn't capture that but I have a mini ecg machine on the consultant's recommendation to capture any others if they occur. Are you suffering occasional bouts or more sustained?

The afib bunch are really positive and often discuss lifestyle choices which have helped them.I found that reassuring as I want to slow the progression of this if I can.Have you found anything sets it off?

I get quite sustained bouts but have only been on medication for a week so it might take time to work. I find after eating a meal seems to bring it on. How do I get on the afib forum.

The medication should help.I find that eating affects me too.If you search Healthunlocked under af association you should be able to join the group.See you there.😃

Please read my former posts. I had Afib for decades but now there are excellent medicine combinations and options for an ablation if appropriate. Can answer specific questions if you ask them. Take care.

Had AFib for a while. It can be scary. Mine started a few years ago, would have short (sometimes only a few seconds) but they did get more frequent and longer over the years. My problem was that my ECGs never picked them up. Eventually, after a visit to A&E when a spell last a couple of hours I was given a Loop Recorder which helped monitor them. I’m on Bisoprolol but a low dose because my normal heart rate can be as low as 40. Had a Pacemaker fitted 4 weeks ago to control the lower rates and the Cardiologist is going to increase my meds and prescribe Flecainide which should control the AFib.

Try not to worry too much, it is controllable

OK thank you it us a bit worrying but hopefully the biosropol will start working soon 🙂

I also have Afib and take Bisoprolol 2.5mg. I was diagnosed in April, so still trying to get my head around it too. Take care. x

Are you on any other medication I've been told I don't need blood thinners at the moment that was after ecg and blood tests. Just on 5mg of biosoporol at the moment.

Yes, I am on Spironolactone and Rivaroxaban, plus the medication that I was prescribed before diagnosis.
