Terrible heartburn

I am on protonix for gerd and acid reflux. Been taking it for years and has always helped perfectly. Recently I had a bad day with the worse heartburn I have ever experienced. I couldnt lay, bend over or even hardly really sit. Very painful and horrible. I had my protonix plus took a tum. Even pepto bismol after hours of not being able to get it under control. Had it all night and next morning. Couldnt sleep or barely drink. Then my chest hurt later same day. Twingy pain. Also been very tired and breathless as well as just tightness like feeling in my throat. Lasted 2 days. Chest tight and full like also. Could it be I actually had a heart attack?

Thank you Rose. I havent felt right since. I was like you, normally if I sat up it would resolve. This time nothing was helping.

If you have those sort of pains again act fast and call for help.

I left pains like you had I thought where indigestion ended up having HA .

Dont take risks

Hi,

Please get this checked out, - not wanting to scare you - just wanting you to be safe.

Like Rose54, last August I had what I thought was esophageal spasm (which I have had several times before) this time the pains weren't going away. After suffering for 24 hours I took myself to A&E after ECG, X-rays & bloods I was told I had had a heart attack. I was in hospital 4 days, fitted with a stent then sent home the next day.

I was always told when I have a spasm to get it checked out as the pains are very difficult to determine from a HA, after so many spasms and false alarms, I ignored it then this time it was a HA.
