Hi all,

I had my AVR December 2018, mechanical valve fitted. I enjoy long walks and recently started the couch to 5k, all with no issues except feeling great! So I decided to start training, I joined a local fitness club who run bootcamps and went for the 1st last Monday, it was tough but really enjoyed afterwards felt great, went Wednesday and the same again tough but felt great, I then went on Thursday and I felt great but pushed a little more, I woke on Friday and it felt like I had the most horrible hangover, even yesterday, Saturday, I was still a little groggy, has anyone experienced something similar if they exercise too much??

Well done with your progress. As per that was unexpected’s answer. I would think dehydration could be a big factor. In addition though I think it may also be case of a little too much too soon. Something I have been very guilty of in the past. Perhaps starting with just the Monday and Friday sessions to start, then over time think of adding the midweek session. If you lose a lot of fluids, then I find an electrolyte replacement drink can help especially in hotter weather. I personally use SIS electrolyte replacement powder. Before I discovered it, quite often after a lengthy workout I would wake up the next day with a fuzzy head and feeling a bit lethargic. It’s not a miracle cure and doesn’t suit everybody, but it may be worth experimenting with.
