Hi GM56

Has your GP or Cardiologist advised you that you have raised Blood pressure?

The BHF has this information about raised BP possible and stratergies to help lower your BP

The Arrhythmia Alliance is a support group for those living with heart rhythm problems such as Atrial Fibrillation. They have lots of information about AF.

Years ago, when I was so exhausted I took a holiday in Egypt, the hotel's restaurant manager recommended hibiscus tea from the buffet "to relax you". I loved it, but when he saw I was drinking two cups a day at breakfast, he warned me not to overdo it, as it might have an adverse effect. I kinda pooh-poohed it, but then I did have a couple of episodes where I got very dizzy when I bent over, so he was probably right. That was the real stuff made fresh - the hotel was surrounded by the flowers - and I don't know if the manufactured brands would be so effective. However, if you are on medication, I would strongly advise you to check with your GP/hospital before trying the experiment, in case it causes a bad reaction or affects the results of your check-ups.

I am not on any medication as it’s borderline but have managed to get it down by no caffeine, no alcohol and some weight loss.

I am not on any medication at the moment .

Thank you for your reply .. did you go dizzy from low BP do you think?

I think it probably was, as I can't think of another reason. I cut down to one cup a day until I came home and it didn't happen again - and of course, you can't get fresh hibiscus tea over here unfortunately! I must have been in my late 30's/early 40's then - before I was diagnosed with high BP. Well done on your self-help measures, btw - sounds like it's paying off!
