I’ve posted similar before but just need a rant . I do t understand how the Drs cam stand there and tell me that I am critically ill with severe h/f - then I’m not due to see consultant u till September when I was discharged beginning of June - now last Friday my hf nurse says that instead of weekly video call she will talk to mr in a month ! I don’t get it

I know exactly how you feel, I was diagnosed with severe valve failure (from previous MVR) in Dec/Jan... Now we are in July. When I spoke to my hospital they said unless you arive by ambulance there is nothing we can do... Covid and all that. Im struggling every day and my depression is worse than ever. I think the colleteral damage from Covid is going to be huge!

Sorry to hear that - my nurse told me this is nothing to do with Covid - that’s how often I’d see her !?

Hi, how are you feeling in yourself? are you able to function normaly? if not I would be speaking to your GP or healthcare team. HTH

I’m feeling ok and not overly worried - I would call if I was - but no increase in meds which to me means longer recovery

in reply toScoopdogg

Have you tried leaving out tea and scones for her?

Thank you - the mixed messages are really disconcerting- I do feel a bit dropped - told to ignore all the bad online stuff which I do - but at end of the day what we have is life threatening and we are left on own

I know how you feel . I think the cardiologist and heart failure nurse know there is nothing more they can do for us so write us off. There needs to be more research into heart failure as more people die of that than cancer. I think you just have to listen to your body and react to how your feeling as well as taking the meds. you need.

It does feel like there’s a limit to what we can do do just sit n see what happens

Yes uk. I’m supposed to se h/f nurse which is via video call . But she had just made it monthly !

I'm in the US so things may be a bit different.

Monthly sounds much more reasonable. I'm happy to hear that was changed. September re evaluation sounded a bit too far off for my comfort level.

It’s early days - only discharged first week in June - just feels Strange to only see anyone monthly when it’s so serious

I agree.

Please stay in tuned with your body and don't hesitate to call someone or go to the ER if anything changes.

Best of luck to you
